Warning: the consumption of alcohol may lead you to believe you can sing. And that's perfectly all right. Many of these spots have private rooms so your friends are the only people that will ever know.
Live-K – This swanky new karaoke bar at The Wharf just opened in December with private rooms that can host as many as 40 people. Their menu boasts street snacks like takoyaki, gyoza, grilled meat skewers, and boba. (The Wharf)
Muzette – A classic Korean karaoke bar with killer tteokbokke to match. I firmly believe this is the best bar on the whole AdMo strip. (Adams Morgan)
Freddie’s Beach Bar – Every night is karaoke night at this beach-themed gay bar. The crowd here isn’t shy, so put your requests in early. (Arlington)
Wok and Roll – In the old Mary Surratt boarding house, you’ll find a casual karaoke joint with private rooms and songs in six languages. They have cocktails, but I recommend sticking with beer both for your taste buds and friends’ ears. (Chinatown)
Zeppelin – This sushi bar turns into a karaoke bar Thursday through Saturday starting at 10:30 p.m. Karaoke is done in their main dining room, so be prepared for strangers to hear your Dancing Queen impression. (Shaw)
