DC Meals That Cost Less Than $10
Getting good food in D.C. doesn’t have to be expensive. We got some recs from D.C. native and viral Instagrammer Big Schlim about the city's best cheap eats, all under $10.

You can spend a LOT of money eating out in D.C. (I would know 😣). But getting good food doesn’t have to be expensive. We got some recs from D.C. native and viral Instagrammer Big Schlim about the city's best cheap eats.
Julia’s Empanadas (Adams Morgan):
You can grab three hefty empanadas for $9 at this AdMo stalwart. I love the Jamaican and spinach ones. Plus, they’re open until 3 a.m. on weekends.
The Well Dressed Burrito (Dupont):
This no-frills Mexican joint located down an alley might be the best bang for your buck … ever. You can get a massive burrito or tacos for under $8.
Meat & Foods (Bloomingdale)
A half-smoke will run you $8 at this cozy sandwich shop but according to Big Schlim, the chili is where the heat’s at.

Florida Ave. Grill (Columbia Heights)
This soul food restaurant serves up breakfast all day, and you can get a full breakfast plate with sausage and a corn muffin for less than $7.
Falafel Inc. (Multiple locations)
$4 for a falafel sandwich, $5 for a bowl, and it’s actually good? Sign me up. The portions aren’t huge but it’s perfect for a quick lunch.
Gloria's Pupuseria (Columbia Heights)
Pupusas here go for $3 each and are greasy, cheesy, crispy, and delicious. They come with a side of curtido and salsa, naturally.
