Bikes need a tune-up at least once or twice a year depending on how much you ride. It ensures that the brakes and gears work smoothly and that the bike is safe to ride. Here are the best spots around town to get fixed up!

Big Wheel Bikes (Georgetown/Arlington):

As one of the cheaper full-service options, this is my go-to. They’ll adjust your brakes, wheels, cables, gears, and headset in their standard tune-up. Or if you don’t need all that, they have a mini tune-up for even less. Standard tune-up: $130

The Bike House Clinic (Petworth/Brookland):

This volunteer group provides professional bike maintenance tools and teaches you how to repair your own bike during weekend clinics from April to November. You can find them at Petworth Ace Hardware (Saturday) and Annie's Ace Hardware Brookland (Sundays).

This hip and friendly bike shop is popular among D.C. cyclists. Simple repairs like flat fixes and small adjustments can be done on a walk-in basis. Tune-ups and major work are scheduled for weekdays.
