2023 is quickly coming to a close, and what a year it has been for Washingtonians. We went on a quest to ask Washingtonians what they thought D.C. did well, and not so well in 2023. Here’s what you had to say.

👍 What’s something D.C. did well this year?

“One thing I think D.C. did well this year is getting rid of Dan Snyder.” – Sean

“I like that the city attempted to overhaul its criminal justice system and fix our sentencing laws. And I hate that the rest of the country stopped us from doing that.” – Damon

“I think one thing that D.C. did well this year was hosting Adams Morgan Porchfest!” – Katie

“I’m glad to see D.C.'s back to its regular programming. There's always stuff going on, and we're finally out of our [pandemic] hole and can do fun things.” – Bethany

👎 What’s something D.C. could do better next year?

“I think the mosquitoes need some work. I think we need a mosquito czar.” – Clara

“I'm kind of shocked at the amount of carjackings that are going on, so I hope the city has a plan for how to address that.” – Sheni

“D.C. should pave the bike lanes more because I think that a lot of them are in disrepair, and it makes it more dangerous to bike in the city.” – Christina M.

“I'd like more consistent bus service.” – Hannah
