Where to get a Fourth of July Picnic in DC

Lots of restaurants in D.C. are going all in on Fourth of July picnics this year. Just pick up your basket from one of these spots, and head down to see the fireworks!

Pupatella: This pizza joint is launching a new charcuterie board and wine bottle combo for a to-go picnic with meats, cheeses, and handmade pizza crust. ($18 - $35)

Unconventional Diner: Pick up a fried chicken party pack available only on July 4, with chicken, mashed potatoes⁠, cornbread muffins⁠, vanilla cupcakes, and more. ($58)

Nobu: For something different, go for these picnic-friendly sushi cups with ten different fish preparations. You can add on batched cocktails like the Nobu Sidecar, Grapefruit on The Rocks, or a Lychee Martini. ($160)

Ghostburger: This burger joint is unveiling its first-ever hotdog on the Fourth of July. Pair that with a six-pack from Union Kitchen across the street, and you’ve got a perfect firework meal. (Price tbd)

Ellington Park Bistro: The French restaurant is offering three types of picnic baskets — blanc, rouge, bleu — each featuring a unique assortment of charcuterie and cheese, sandwiches, sweets, bottles of wine, and cocktails. ($80-$150).

Kick Axe Cookout: While not a picnic basket, the ax throwing center in Ivy City is hosting their own picnic with $5 hot dogs and burgers straight from the grill, live music, and drinks. ($33+)
