What to Eat In Mt. Vernon Triangle

Not to be confused with Mt. Vernon Square, Mt. Vernon Triangle is a small subset neighborhood nestled in the southeast corner of Mt Vernon Square. Confusing, I know.

Although it only consists of a few blocks, it’s a mecca for dining in D.C. and has an overwhelming number of taco joints. Take our map on the road with you and have yourself a little day-date.

☕ Where to get coffee:

No question, kick off the day at A Baked Joint. I find any excuse I can to come here and get a cappuccino and avocado toast or veggie sandwich. My advice? Buy a whole loaf to bring home with you. If you’re looking for somewhere you can bring your four-legged friend, go around the block to Chez Lily’s who’s pupa-chinos are only topped by their pistachio lattes.

🍴 Where To Eat:

If you’re looking for spice, go no further than Baan Siam. This northern Thai spot ditches the classics for a huge menu of fiery curries, garlic rice, and crispy fried meats. Mandu is great for traditional Korean fare without trekking to Annandale. But if it were me, I would go for the brisket plate at 2Fifty BBQ’s newly-opened spot on K Street NW.

🛍️ Where To Shop:

Check out Hemphill Artworks, one of the few commercial contemporary art galleries in D.C. In the warmer months, a farmers market pops up on Saturdays at the corner of I Street NW and Massachusetts Avenue NW. Another favorite stop is Busboys & Poets, where you can browse the stacks and descend their fantasy-esque spiral staircase.
