Goooood morning, D.C.! This meme of King Charles Coronation has taken D.C. twitter by storm. People are commenting “better than thou” District experiences. My favorites include exiting L’enfant station without getting lost, and interns wearing government IDs on the Metro.

Bowser Takes On Crime
Mayor Murial Bowser is holding a public safety summit today to discuss the huge rise in crime impacting the District. Police say the rate increased 26% since last year. On Tuesday, Bowser is off to Congress to testify about how the city is handling the problem. You can catch up quick with this City Cast DC episode about "part one" of the Oversight Committee hearing. Electric Stoves Pull Ahead
The D.C. Attorney General joined other attorneys general in signing a letter asking the Consumer Product Safety Commission to do more to regulate gas stoves. Similarly, a group of local leaders gathered in Northeast this week to show their support for the shift to electric. They endorsed the proposed Healthy Homes Act which would help lower-income residents move from gas appliances to electric ones at no cost. [WTOP, NBC4]
