Moon Rabbit abruptly closes

May 24, 2023

What's CITY Talking About?

The Arlington Airbag Thieves

Honda owners, beware. Airbag thieves struck 20 Hondas in Arlington this past weekend, breaking in through the windows. Theft of airbags, particularly in Hondas, has been a nagging problem in the area. Police recommend parking in well-lit, populated areas. [WTOP]

  • Heads up: D.C. is also one of the worst cities for odometer fraud, so if you're looking to buy a used car, be careful. And, maybe don’t go for a Honda. [City Cast DC 🎧]

Goodnight Moon

RIP to Kevin Tien’s Moon Rabbit. The Vietnamese restaurant on the Wharf abruptly shut down after service on Monday night. It’s rumored that the InterContinental Hotel suddenly closed the wildly popular spot because of its fledgling union. Tien and Moon Rabbit are nominated for multiple Rammy Awards, including Chef of the Year and Upscale Casual Restaurant of the Year. [Washington Post 🔒]

An Affirmative Action Win

A Virginia federal appeals court ruled in favor of a public elite high school that had been accused of discriminating against Asian Americans. The school had revamped its admissions policy a few years ago to promote diversity, and critics said those changes came at the expense of Asian American students in the area. [WTOP]
