Sonic Boom Over Virginia
Fighter jets from a local air force base used supersonic speed to intercept a private plane over Virginia on Sunday, causing a sonic boom heard across the District. (If you missed it, check out these videos. It was LOUD.) The pilot of the plane was unresponsive to air traffic messages and crashed, killing all four passengers on board. [Washington Post 🔒]

Progress On The Reeves Center Revamp
After a lengthy review process, D.C. has finally picked a team to redevelop the Franklin D. Reeves Center, at 14th and U streets. The plans include a new national headquarters for the NAACP, a hotel, more than 300 housing units, entertainment spaces, restaurants, and more. Construction is expected to start in 2025.
