What's CITY Talking About?
D.C. Council Pushes on Falcicchio Investigation
D.C. Councilmember Brianne Nadeau introduced emergency legislation to further investigate sexual harassment allegations against John Falcicchio. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s former chief of staff resigned abruptly in March after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct. The legislation would require an independent counsel to reexamine the initial investigation conducted by the Mayor’s Office of Legal Counsel. Bowser spoke out against the proposed bill, saying that her office’s investigation was thorough. [WTOP]

Green Card Police Officers
Green card holders are now able to work as D.C. police officers. Previously only U.S. citizens could apply. MPD says the policy change aims to make the agency representative of the community it serves. However, the decision comes when District police are struggling with a severe staffing shortage. Wage Theft Of Prison Staff
Thousands of Maryland corrections workers will receive $13 million in back pay resulting from an investigation into wage theft by the state government. The prison employees were denied pay for recorded overtime for three years. After apologizing to the employees, Governor Wes Moore vowed to review other hourly wages across state government to uncover potential pay discrepancies. [Washington Post 🔒]

Where Is It?

You know your feet, ya creeps! This big toe belongs to the 72-foot “Awakening” sculpture by J. Seward Johnson, Jr. It was installed at Hains Point, but was purchased and moved to the National Harbor in 2007.
Reader Debra C. says, “J. Seward Johnson was really into recreating famous artworks, bringing 2D paintings to life in 3D. Another D.C. connection is his life-size rendition of Renoir's "Luncheon of the Boating Party," which we can see at The Phillips Collection."
Kudos to Lakiha W., Amelda F, and Susan B. for all guessing before 6:30 a.m.

This next one is a little farther afield, but certainly worth the trip. Can you tell me where this food hall is? Bonus points if you can tell me what you love ordering there.
