The Center for Disease Control is reporting a late-summer covid surge across the country, including in the DMV. Positive cases and hospitalizations started increasing in July after months of decline. National Gallery Misstep
The National Gallery of Art has apologized for removing a visitor with a disability for violating the museum’s bag policy. The visitor had a spinal injury that made it impossible to follow the museum policy of wearing bags on one shoulder and refused to let the gallery check the bag because they said it held life-saving medications. The National Gallery is now reviewing its bag policy. [WTOP]

Maryland residents spent a whopping $87.43 million on cannabis during its first month of being legal. Licensed growers sold 19,582 pounds of weed throughout July, far exceeding the industry’s expectations Business owners partly credit the 9% tax on cannabis, which allows legal weed prices to stay low.
