New Sobering Centers in DC

Two new sobering centers are being built to address the rising opioid crisis. D.C. has the second-highest rate of fatal opioid overdoses in the nation. The centers will offer space to rest, shower, and possibly begin treatment. But some say it should be more accessible to residents east of the Anacostia River. To Be Or Not To Be Completed

Folger Shakespeare Library is pushing back its reopening to 2024. The research library has been closed since 2020 for an $80.5 million renovation that was originally set to finish in November.
