District Dogs Pet Owners Meet with Mayor

Mayor Muriel Bowser is allegedly considering removing the certificate of occupancy for the storefront on Rhode Island Avenue NE that was formerly used by District Dogs. 10 dogs died after the space flooded in August. Several of the dog parents met with Bowser last week and accused her of downplaying the delayed emergency response to the incident. [Washington Post 🔒]

FedEx Field Facelift

The Washington Commanders’ stadium will be getting a $40 million upgrade, including a paint job, maintenance repairs, new ticket-scanning pedestals, and new suites. [NBC4]

Elder Abuse On the Rise

Reports of financial exploitation of seniors and elder abuse are on the rise in the area, according to D.C.’s attorney general. His office received 490 referrals for financial exploitation of elders this year. The AG is targeting businesses that have a pattern of taking advantage of seniors. [DCist]
