Assistant City Administrator Arrested

The newly appointed assistant city administrator, Christopher Rodriguez, was arrested on domestic violence charges last week. The longtime member of Mayor Muriel Bowser’s administration was put on leave from his position Friday afternoon although the charges against him were dropped. Rodriguez has previously been accused of race and age discrimination in his former city role. [DCist]

$600M Ask For Capital One Arena

The company that owns the Wizards, Capitals, and Mystics, has asked D.C. for $600 million of public funding to renovate Capital One Arena. They want to add more seats close to the court, a food court, and a new entrance at Seventh and F Streets SW. DC-Boston Amtrak Corridor Revamp

More than $16 billion in federal funding will go toward 25 passenger rail projects between Boston and Washington. The funding will be used to revamp rail bridges, tunnels, and stations. Amtrak will receive about $10 billion, with the rest shared by states and transit agencies that help to maintain the corridor. [Washington Post 🔒]
