What's CITY Talking About?

Potential Car-Free Zones

D.C. Council is considering establishing three car-free pedestrian zones by 2026. The proposal would establish these corridors by closing roads to cars for at least some hours each week. The $2.5 million project is inspired by D.C.’s annual “Open Streets” events, which have been shown to draw lots of foot traffic. [Washington Post 🔒]
