Confederate Memorial Removal Interrupted

A federal judge temporarily stopped the removal of a Confederate memorial in Arlington National Cemetery yesterday, after the removal process had already begun. A lawsuit accused the Army, which runs the cemetery, of illegally executing a “hasty removal process.” There will be a hearing tomorrow to decide if the restraining order will be extended. [NBC4]

Red Line Repair Underway

With Red Line service shutdown between Dupont Circle and Gallery Place until Dec. 30, thousands of riders are taking shuttle buses instead. Metro said it will make safety repairs to the tunnels and tracks during the two-week period. [WTOP]

Mall Bans Unaccompanied Minors

A new policy at the DC USA mall in Columbia Heights says that shoppers under 18 now need to be accompanied by an adult. The mall’s owners have not commented on why these new rules are being enforced. [WTOP]
