Get ready for Chinatown 2.0

January 9, 2024

Morning! After two long years of waiting, Raising Cane’s will open its first D.C. location at Union Station today. The Louisiana-based chain is famous for its chicken tenders and trademark sauce. Throw in a Tatte and we’re on track (😉) to becoming America’s most-loved train station.

What's CITY Talking About?

New Effort to Revitalize Chinatown

Mayor Muriel Bowser is establishing a new Gallery Place-Chinatown Task Force to focus on breathing new life into the neighborhood as the Washington Wizards and Capitals consider leaving for Alexandria. The task force is charged with creating a long-term vision and financial plan for the area. [WUSA9]

Commanders’ Coach Ousted

Ron Rivera is no longer the Washington Commanders’ coach. Managing partner Josh Harris announced the team was set to move in a new direction under his ownership. Rivera coached the squad for four disappointing seasons, and finished this year with a 4-13 record. [NBC4]

Kidnapped Dogs Returned

Seven of the eight American Bulldog puppies that were stolen over the weekend have been found. Authorities say a “community member” brought them to a police station. The last pup is still missing. This is the latest in a string of dognappings plaguing D.C. [WTOP]
