💔 The best spots to break up in DC

February 13, 2024

Good Morning neighbors! D.C. may be the loneliest city, but I believe in us. If you are looking for some last minute Valentine's Day activities, we’ve got some ideas for you. Get out there ya love bugs ❤️‍🔥

What's CITY Talking About?

Bezos vs. Leonsis

The proposed Monumental Sports Arena has a new enemy: Jeff Bezos. If the arena at Potomac Yard goes forward, Route 1 would have to transport fans to and from the arena. Amazon HQ officials worry this will inhibit their plans to turn the area surrounding Route 1 into a walkable neighborhood. [Washington Post 🔒]

Washington Swindlers

According to a new Federal Trade Commission report, Washingtonians were scammed out of more than $13 million in 2023. The most common cons were impostor scams and identity theft. Be extra cautious about giving personal information to strangers, and call the FTC if you’re suspicious. [WTOP]

CopHub

In response to rising crime, D.C. Police opened a “Safe Commercial Corridor Hub” in Chinatown. Mayor Bowser says the hub will act as a police substation and center for mental health and community services. The city plans to add two more hubs in Anacostia and the U Street corridor by spring.
