Fight Over Long-Distance Flights at DCA

All four senators from Maryland and Virginia are lobbying Congress not to change DCA’s rules on long-distance flights. As it stands, only a limited number of flights over 1,250 miles can leave National per day. Proponents of the rule say that DCA is already working above capacity, and that more flights would negatively impact traffic and passenger safety. [City Cast DC 🎧]

Biden Funds FBI Move to Greenbelt

President Biden’s 2025 budget includes $3.5 billion to move the FBI headquarters to Greenbelt. The move is not in the clear yet, however, and is has drummed up significant controversy, especially in Virginia. [Washington Business Journal, City Cast DC 🎧]

Former MoCo Superintendent Gets Payout

Monifa McKnight, who resigned from her post as Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent in February, will receive $1.3 million in a separation agreement. McKnight stepped down after her alleged mishandling of sexual harassment claims against a former principal. As part of the settlement, McKnight has agreed not to sue the school system. [MoCo360]
