📚 The Shakespeare Library is back

Hey, D.C. The Folger Shakespeare Library is reopening today at 1 p.m. after four years of renovations. The library will have a new cafe, reading room, and exhibits, which include 82 copies of Shakespeare’s “First Folio,” on public display for the first time. Free passes can be reserved in advance.

Bay Bridge Gets a Bestie

Maryland is looking to add a new crossing in the same corridor as the existing Bay Bridge to alleviate traffic on the highly popular throughway. They are currently weighing the environmental impacts of a variety of different crossings and will set a timeline and budget in 2026. Thankfully, they will not be closing the Bay Bridge to make way for the new project. [Axios]

Nice work, Andrés has 19 restaurants, eight of which are in D.C. and range from casual diners to Michelin-star bars. They include: Zaytinya, China Chilcano, Jaleo, Oyamel, Bar Mini, Mini Bar, The Bazaar, and Beefsteak.

Andrés was born in Spain and moved to D.C. in the ‘90s. He first started in the D.C. dining scene with Jaleo in Penn Quarter, which quickly became one of the most successful tapas restaurants in the country. Zaytinya and Oyamel followed shortly after. He is also known for establishing World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit that provides meals after natural disasters.
