👮 MPD rolls out drone program
June 25, 2024 · 💌 Kaela
Hey, D.C. A six-foot-tall wax replica of the Lincoln Memorial statue on S street is melting in the D.C. heat. It's gone viral for its, uh, compromising position and has made for some interesting commentary.

What's CITY Talking About?
Trump Touts Iron Fist on DC
Former President Donald Trump says he will “take over D.C." if he wins re-election this year. He could use his presidential power to influence city budgets, reshape Downtown, or even send in the National Guard if elected. [Axios]
Dali Exits Baltimore Harbor
The Dali, the cargo ship that crashed into the Key Bridge in Baltimore, is headed to Virginia after three months of waiting for a passage to be cleared. The ship passed the strait where the bridge used to be, and will take 16 - 20 hours to reach Norfolk. [Fox5]
MPD Takes To the Sky
The D.C. Police rolled out a new drone program to help fight crime along with a new, faster helicopter. The drones will assist D.C.’s Real-Time Crime Center by searching for missing persons and dangerous suspects, as well as documenting major crash investigations. [WUSA9]
