What's CITY Talking About?

Bougier, More Expensive Metro

Metro prices will jump this Sunday, pushing bus fares from $2 to $2.25 and train fares to $2.25 - $6.75 depending on distance traveled. But the hikes come with improvements. Buses are installing easier-to-clean vinyl seats. No more wondering what that weird stain on your seat is 🤢 [WTOP, WMATA]

Falcicchio Document War

D.C.’s Attorney General threatened legal action against the Bowser Administration for “impeding” its criminal investigation into the sexual assault incidents by her former aid John Falcicchio. The AG’s office tried obtaining certain documents for over a year, but the Mayor’s Legal Counsel refused to give them up due to privacy concerns. The Office of Legal Counsel will testify today before the D.C. Council.

Robo-Taxis In DC

Self-driving rideshare app Waymo is testing in D.C. The app says their self-driving cars are safer than human drivers. They're already in use in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Phoenix, and are looking to expand to D.C. if the tests are successful. [NBC4]
