What's CITY Talking About?

Big Week For Restaurant Openings

Brazilian caipirinha bar Cana opens in Adams Morgan today with Brazilian food and vintage vinyl. It’s about to become my new neighborhood hangout. The owners of Residents are opening a new spot in Georgetown tomorrow called River Club. And finally, Yellow is opening a new location in Union Market on July 9. [City Cast DC]

Get Ready for the Heat

If you thought June was bad, prepare yourself. This will be the hottest July in five years, averaging 3 degrees above the normal July temp of 81. It is also going to be a particularly wet month, making up for the dry spell we had in June. [Washington Post 🔒]

No Buses In My Backyard

WMATA is taking some heat after it unveiled its Better Bus Network last month, which redesigns bus routes and schedules. Several Bloomingdale residents have taken to Nextdoor, city council meetings, and even started a petition opposing Bus Route C55. They claim the buses will bring pollution, endanger cyclists, and “change the character of the neighborhood.” [Greater Greater Washington]
