New WWI Memorial Opening Soon

D.C.’s newest monument, the World War I Memorial, opens Sept. 13 between the White House and Freedom Plaza on Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The memorial consists of a 60-foot wall of sculptures that tell the story of the war through the eyes of a soldier. Sculptor Sabin Howard worked on it for four and a half years. [WTOP]

Enforcing Bike Speed Limits

Police are using radar guns to enforce bike speed limits on the Capital Crescent Trail after community complaints about speeding cyclists. The speed limit is 15 mph. So far, they are mostly giving out warnings for speeders, but are citing anyone being actively unsafe. [NBC4]
