🚇 Metro is going autopilot
September 25, 2024 · 💌 Kaela
Hey, neighbor. Aperol Spritz season is over. Fall is ruled by wine and vineyards. We asked Dave McIntyre, a.k.a the Washington Post’s “wine guy,” to tell us the best local wines to try this season.

What's CITY Talking About?
WMATA Goes Autopilot
Metro will return to self-driving trains starting in December, which should lead to smoother rides and fewer delays. They turned off automated trains 15 years ago after a deadly crash on the Red Line, but concluded that autopilot was not to blame. [Washington Post 🔒]
It’s Going to Rain, a Lot
Southwest waterfront, Old Town Alexandria, and areas surrounding the Potomac River could experience flooding as the DMV enters a coastal flood alert. According to the National Weather Service, water levels could rise to 2.5 feet above normal due to onshore winds and a tropical storm. [Washington Post 🔒]
Maryland Sues Owner of Ship That Collapsed Bridge
Maryland is suing the owner of the container ship Dali, which rammed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in March, causing its collapse. The suit claims the company knowingly sent an unseaworthy ship into U.S. waters. The families of the six construction workers killed are also suing. [AP]
