Metro will return to self-driving trains starting in December, which should lead to smoother rides and fewer delays. They turned off automated trains 15 years ago after a deadly crash on the Red Line, but concluded that autopilot was not to blame. [Washington Post 🔒]

Southwest waterfront, Old Town Alexandria, and areas surrounding the Potomac River could experience flooding as the DMV enters a coastal flood alert. Maryland Sues Owner of Ship That Collapsed Bridge

Maryland is suing the owner of the container ship Dali, which rammed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in March, causing its collapse. The suit claims the company knowingly sent an unseaworthy ship into U.S. waters. The families of the six construction workers killed are also suing. [AP]
