DC Falling Deeper Into Housing Crisis
D.C. is facing a ‘perfect storm’ of rent delinquency, low investment, and rising costs that could lead to a larger housing crisis. The Housing Production Trust announced that it will focus on the renovation of existing affordable housing and that there will be a drop-off of new affordable units in years to come. [City Cast DC 🎧]
No More Lyft Scooters
Lyft is discontinuing its dockless scooters in D.C. starting Tuesday. You can still use the app to unlock CaBi bikes or call a Lyft ride though. [DC News Now]
Storms Ahead
Hurricane Helene is bringing heavy rain to D.C. today and throughout the weekend. High winds could also mean moderate tidal flooding along the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay. Might not be the best weekend for that picnic. [Washington Post 🔒]
