Trayon Prosecutors Push for July Trial
Prosecutors are asking for a July trial date for Trayon White, the Ward 8 Councilmember who allegedly took bribes in exchange for pushing more business toward a city contractor. Somehow, he is still running for reelection in November, which is causing a real ruckus. [City Cast DC 🎧]
Circulator Employees Demand a Plan
Two weeks after being laid off, 90 Circulator bus employees are still pushing for a transition plan. Several drivers protested outside Mayor Bowser’s home on Wednesday, asking her to support legislation that would give Circulator employees a financial payout using money from the sale of Circulator buses. Rat City, USA
A new study shows that D.C. is the most rat-infested city in the country, with Edgewood, Bloomingdale, Truxton Circle, and Eckington facing the biggest infestations. Numbers spiked during COVID lockdowns, but thankfully are slightly down in 2024. [RentHop]
