🏈 Hope for the Commanders!?
November 1, 2024 · 💌 Kaela
Hey, neighbor! Daylight savings is this Sunday so turn your clocks back and bask in that extra hour of sleep. Of course, it’s not a great deal considering the months of darkness. But it’s not all bad news, here’s how to make the most of it.

What's CITY Talking About?
DC Council Expands Business Grant Program
D.C. is expanding its retail grant program to include Mount Vernon Triangle, Eastern Market, and Barracks Row. The grants – up to $80,000 – are meant to support small businesses on commercial corridors. This will bring the program to a total of 16 priority areas. [Washington Business Journal 🔒]
Orange Line Closures
Five Orange Line stations will close for construction this weekend. These include the Minnesota Ave, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover, and New Carrollton Stations. Shuttles will be available. [DC News Now]
New Hirshhorn Art School Opens
The Hirshhorn Museum opened a new art-making studio that offers programming and open-studio sessions four days a week for visitors of all ages. The programs will be organized into thematic, artist-focused semesters, with the first one being “Boundary Breakers.”

A Commanders Comeback?
The Commanders might actually be … good?! Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels chucked a Hail Mary on Sunday to secure a division-leading win, building up nostalgic levels of Washington football fervor. They’ll take on the New York Giants on Sunday. [City Cast DC 🎧]
