Ward 8 Preps For Special Election

Several activists in Ward 8 are preparing for a special election, even though Councilmember Trayon White won his third term with about 76% of the vote. White has been federally charged with bribery, and campaigners say they want to be prepared if he’s kicked off DC Council. [City Paper, City Cast DC 🎧]

Weekend Metro Delays

Expect some metro delays this weekend. Starting tomorrow morning, Green and Yellow lines will only run every 12 minutes and the Red line will be shut down between Medical Center and Grosvenor-Strathmore. [WMATA]

DC’s Trumpiest Neighborhood

Shockingly, D.C.’s Trumpiest neighborhood isn’t Navy Yard; it’s Hill East, a residential neighborhood close to RFK stadium. 22% of Hill East residents voted for Trump, versus 6.6% of total D.C. residents. [Axios]

Will DC Council Fund I-83?

I-83 passed, meaning voters want D.C. to adopt ranked choice voting and semi-open primaries. But first, D.C. Council has to fund and implement the idea, something Chairman Phil Mendelson and several councilmembers are not thrilled about. [City Cast DC 🔒]
