🍽️ Where Republicans eat in DC
November 11, 2024 · 💌 Kaela
Happy Veterans Day, neighbor. Today, the Arlington National Cemetery is having its annual Veterans Day concert, but there are dozens of other events around town — from family events to 5Ks — to honor those who served.
✅ P.S. It's the last day to vote in our annual City Cast 6 awards, presented by Christopher Nace and the trial lawyers at Paulson & Nace, and to nominate your local hero! Winners will be announced on the City Cast DC podcast on Dec. 9.

Thousands Expected For Anti-Trump March
Over 50,000 people are expected for the People’s March on Washington on Jan. 18 to protest the election of President Donald Trump. The protest is scheduled two days before inauguration day and is one of over 10 permit applications filed with the National Park Service for demonstrations around that time. [Washington Post 🔒]
Police Investigate Racist Post-Election Text
D.C. police are investigating racist texts sent to Black residents after the election. Texts tell recipients they have been “selected as a house slave” at a “plantation” and threaten to come pick them up. D.C.’s Attorney General is encouraging anyone who gets the text to call D.C.’s civil rights division at 202-727-3400. [WTOP]

Where Republicans Eat in DC
D.C. is about to see an influx of Republican staffers and lobbyists as the Trump administration prepares for transition. That’s good news for one subsect of the restaurant industry: steakhouses. Washingtonian food editor Jessica Sidman crunched numbers and discovered some weird conclusions about where the new power-class hangs out. [City Cast DC 🎧]
