Drones Are Watching You
The U.S. Secret Service is deploying security drones around D.C. this month in preparation for the Jan. 20 inauguration. Typically, FAA regulations ban unmanned aerial vehicles in D.C. and their presence is making some residents nervous, especially considering the recent national drone panic. [Washingtonian]

Democrats Retain VA General Assembly
Democrats held on to the House and Senate seats in Loudoun, Virginia during a special election on Tuesday, retaining Democrat's control of Virginia’s General Assembly. This will likely block Gov. Glen Youngkin’s last chance to pass his abortion ban. [Washington Post 🔒]
Bowser’s Pricey Inauguration Booth
The mayor's viewing platform for Trump’s inauguration will cost the city $1.5 million, over $1 million more than in 2017. The jump in cost is under increased scrutiny as many Democrats boycott the inauguration. [Axios]
