VA Passes Abortion Rights Resolution
The Virginia Senate voted to enshrine abortion rights in the Virginia Constitution following an emotional floor debate. It also passed same-sex marriage and the automatic restoration of felon voting rights. But the legislation still has a long way to go before it officially becomes part of the state constitution. Trump To Pardon DC Police Convicted In Deadly Shooting
President Trump plans to pardon two D.C. police officers convicted of killing 20-year-old Karon Hylton-Brown in Brightwood Park in 2020. The officers tried to cover up what happened before being convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison. [NBC, City Cast DC 🎧]

2025 Annual Restaurant Awards
The James Beard Foundation named its D.C. semifinalists for 2025. Amy Brandwein of Centrolina has been nominated for the Outstanding Chef award. If she wins, it will be the third year in a row a D.C. chef has taken that national category. DMV restaurants are represented in ten categories this year. The winners will be revealed on June 16.
