Ward 8 Special Election Date
Ward 8 residents will vote for a new councilmember in a special election on July 15. DC Council expelled Trayon White from the position for committing ethics violations. [X]

Thousands Protest Trump Firings
Demonstrators gathered at the Capitol Reflecting Pool on Monday, despite cold and high winds, to urge Congress to take action against the Trump administration. Isa Rae Cancels Kennedy Center Performance
Actress Issa Rae canceled her performance at the Kennedy Center after President Trump declared himself chairman. She said the takeover infringes on the center’s values. Shonda Rhimes, Ben Folds, and other celebrities have also left posts at the institution. [NYTimes 🔒]

National Harbor Youth Curfew
A new youth curfew went into effect at National Harbor last Friday. It lasts from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays for anyone under the age of 18. [WTOP]
