Trump Makes DC Crime Taskforce

Trump signed an executive order to create a taskforce to “make the nation's capital safe again.” It calls for a surge of law enforcement in public spaces, increased ICE activity, and more concealed carry licenses in D.C. The order also calls for a “beautifying” program to remove homeless encampments and graffiti. [White House]

Trump Overhauls Smithsonian Museums

In another executive order, Trump targeted funding for Smithsonian programs that advance “improper ideology,” and put Vice President JD Vance in charge of efforts to remove them.
