SCOTUS Halts Rehiring of Federal Probationary Workers

The Supreme Court stopped a judge's order to reinstate the 16,000 federal probationary workers DOGE fired, saying the non-profit plaintiffs may not have legal standing. Meaning, for now, federal agencies won’t have to rehire them as expected. [NBC4]

Local Investigator Convicted of Assault on Metro

A D.C. fraud investigator, Harold Christy, was convicted of assault after he shoved two buskers playing music on the Green Line. He was placed on administrative leave. [City Paper]

Famous White House Tree Removed

The historic Jackson magnolia was removed from White House South Lawn because of age and injury. The tree dates back to the 19th century and was designated as a “witness tree” by the National Parks Service. [Washington Post 🔒]
