DHS Secretary Bag Stollen In DC Restaurant
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem had her bag with $3,000 cash stolen while eating at The Capital Burger in Mt. Vernon Square. The Secret Service is still looking for the thief, who also got Noem’s apartment keys, IDs, and blank checks. [CNN]
Measles In VA
The Virginia Department of Health reported its first case of measles this year and is encouraging residents to check for possible exposure in Woodbridge and Fredericksburg. Last week, there was a measles exposure at a Five Guys in D.C. [WTOP]
Homeless Encampment Clearings Ignore Root Cause
D.C. has cleared 21 homeless encampments already this year, with more clearings scheduled for later this month. President Trump has pressured D.C. to carry out the sweeps, but advocates say they shuffle unsheltered people around the city, rather than actually getting them off the streets. [Washington Post 🔒]
