Local LGBTQ Case Carries National Implications
The Supreme Court is expected to rule on a landmark case about local LGBTQ+ education during WorldPride DC. The case involves conservative Montgomery County parents who want the power to pull their kids out of classes with LGBTQ themes. [City Cast DC 🎧]
Suspects Arrested for Kristi Noem Purse Theft
Two people were arrested for stealing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's purse — which had $3,000, her keys and her DHS badge in it — when she was dining at Capital Burger in Mt. Vernon Square. One was arrested in D.C. and another in Miami Beach. [Axios]
Amazon HQ2 Downgrades Jobs Prediction
Amazon is slowing its forecast for how many jobs it will bring to the DMV. The tech giant originally planned to add 25,000 new jobs at the Arlington location by 2038, but now it is only "moderately” confident it will meet that target. [Washington Post 🔒]

Dog Death Sparks Petition To Ban Deadly Plant Citywide
Residents at the Lurgan apartment complex downtown are starting a movement to ban Carolina jessamine from all shared-use landscaping in the city. Earlier this month, a puppy died after eating it in the Lurgan courtyard. [Washington Post 🔒]
