DC Council vs RFK Funding
The clash over the RFK stadium deal has begun. Mayor Bowser wants City Council to approve the deal by July 15, but the council say it's impossible to do while also considering the city's 2026 budget, which Bowser has yet to turn over. [City Cast DC 🎧]
Dulles Most Expensive Airport in US
For the fourth year in a row, Dulles International Airport ranked as the most expensive airport in the nation for average domestic airfare. DCA ranks at No. 24. [WTOP]
Judge Refuses to Delay Case of Wrongly Deported Man
A judge ordered expedited depositions in the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Price George resident wrongfully deported to El Salvador last month, denying the Trump administration's request for delay. Trump commented this week that he could bring back Garcia, but isn’t willing to do so. [ABV7/New York Times 🔒]
Rock Creek Parkway Comment Period Extended
The National Park Service extended the deadline for public comments on its proposed changes to Rock Creek Parkway until May 17. One of the more controversial changes is eliminating reversible lanes, along with installing roundabouts, and widening bike paths. [NPS]
