Dupont Circle Closed For WorldPride After All?
After much back and forth, NBC Washington reported late Thursday that the National Park Service will shut down Dupont Circle Park during WorldPride this weekend due to concerns about potential damage. The decision is another 180 after they rescinded their earlier decision to close it Tuesday night. [City Cast DC 🎧]
Dems Boycott Local Restaurants
More than 50 Democrats have pledged to boycott some of D.C.’s most popular restaurants over labor disputes, including Le Diplomate and Rasika. Boycotters include Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY.), Nancy Pelosi, and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). [Axios]
PG County Teachers Vote No Confidence In Superintendent
A Prince George’s County teachers union cast a vote of no confidence in Superintendent Millard House II, saying he ignores student needs and has contributed to widespread dysfunction. The board must now decide whether to take action. [NBC4]
Cleanup Begins On Baltimore Diesel Spill
Crews are cleaning up a major fuel spill in Baltimore Harbor. More than 2,000 gallons of oil spilled Wednesday and turned the water red. Officials say there’s no negative impact on local drinking water. [Washington Post 🔒]
