DC Schools Ban Cellphones
Starting this fall, students at DC Public Schools won’t be able to use their cellphones during the school day. This comes after DCPS’s phone-free pilot showed increased engagement and decreased anxiety for students. [NBC4]
Plastic Surgery Hot Among Washington Men
Square heads are so in right now. Washington men are apparently seeking defined jaws that give a powerful look with “bipartisan appeal.” Local surgeons say their male clients have doubled in the past year. [Politico]
Military Parade Grounds DCA Flights
DCA is expected to halt all takeoffs and landings for several hours during the military parade Saturday — which also happens to be President Trump’s birthday — delaying about 100 flights. The Coast Guard is also closing all movement on the Potomac from Key Bridge to Hains Point. [NoVa Mag/X]
Health Care Company Ends Local Hospital Partnership
Adventist HealthCare’s planned acquisition of Howard University Hospital has fallen apart and the group will stop managing the hospital by February. Howard University Hospital says it will not affect its plans to replace its current facility with a new hospital. [Washington Post 🔒]
