Construction Begins On New Dupont Plaza
The city began construction on the new public plaza that will “deck over” a busy section of Connecticut Avenue NW in Dupont Circle. The project is expected to take two years. [Urban Turf]

Surviving Another DC Heatwave
An extreme heat warning has been issued in D.C. with the “feels like” temp reaching 110 over the next couple days. The city is encouraging people to limit outdoor time and has opened dozens of cooling centers. [WTOP]

Metro Open Longer On Weekends
Metro just rolled out a slew of service updates. There will be more Red Line trains during rush hour. Also, the system now opens at 6 a.m. on weekends and closes at 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. [WMATA]
DC Prepares After Iran Bombings
Mayor Bowser says the city is consulting with federal security officers on potential threats to D.C. after the Iran strikes, but that there are no known threats. In her address, she asked everyone to stay vigilant and report concerning behavior. [Washington Post 🔒]
