DC Sues Drivers With Outstanding Fines
D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb just filed four more lawsuits against Virginia and Maryland drivers with over $300,000 in collective unpaid traffic fines. One driver accrued 414 citations in D.C., mostly for speeding. [Office of the Attorney General]
Proposal to Cut Bowser’s Violence Intervention Program
Ward 2 council member Brooke Pinto wants to remove D.C.’s violence interruption program from Mayor Bowser’s control and combine it with a similar program run by the Office of the Attorney General. Pinto says having both programs is an inefficient use of taxpayer funds. [Washington Post 🔒]
