💰 New bill separates RFK stadium deal from budget
June 27, 2025 · 💌 Kaela
Hey, Neighbor! Consider this your friendly reminder that D.C.’s bus network is changing this Sunday. So say your final farewells to your favorite route (S9 for me 😢) and get caught up on the imminent changes.

What's CITY Talking About?
Push To Separate RFK Stadium Deal From Budget
A new bill proposed by D.C. Council would separate the Commanders stadium approval from the city’s regular budget process. But, the budget would still include funding for the stadium. [NBC4]
- D.C. Council is still split on the $3.7 billion stadium proposal and said it’s not realistic to meet Mayor Bowser’s July 15 deadline. [City Cast DC 🎧]

Controversy Continues Over Youth Curfew
Mayor Bowser is pushing to expand D.C.’s youth curfew to start an hour earlier at 11 p.m. in summer and to include 17-year-olds. But, the policy has proven controversial among locals as it is difficult to fairly enforce. [City Cast DC 🎧]
Pinto Reverses Violence Prevention Proposal
A D.C. Council committee voted to reverse Ward 2 Council member Brooke Pinto’s plan to merge D.C.’s violence prevention programs. Her new proposal includes giving the troubled Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement program a $21 million budget and getting a signed agreement from the Mayor’s office to better manage it.
