Toppled Confederate Statue to be Restored

The National Park Service is planning to reinstall the statue of Confederate General and Freemason Albert Pike in Judiciary Square. Demonstrators previously toppled it in June 2020 amid protests over the killing of George Floyd. NPS says they received executive orders to “beautify the nation’s capital and reinstate pre-existing statues.” [WTOP]
