Democrat James Walkinshaw, who served on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, won the special election to represent Virginia’s 11th Congressional District. “The reckless Trump agenda must come to an end,” he said in his election speech. [AP]
Where Trump Dines, One-Stars Follow
Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak, and Stone Crab has been hit by a flurry of one-star reviews after President Trump dined there on Tuesday. Trump was there to highlight his anti-crime campaign and was met with by several protesters in the restaurant. [Newsweek]
Sub Man Pleads Not Guilty
The former Justice Department attorney accused of throwing a sub-style sandwich at a federal agent last month pleaded not guilty after being charged with a misdemeanor. The jury trial starts Nov. 3. [WTOP]
PG Residents Protest Proposed Data Center
Dozens of Prince George’s residents came out in yesterday’s rain to protest a proposed data center in Landover they say poses dangerous environmental and socioeconomic impacts in the majority-Black county. An online petition to block the data center garnered thousands of signatures. [NBC4/psldc]
