DC Council Returns, With Lots To Do

D.C. Council returned from recess this week and has a lot on their plate. Covid vaccine access, RFK stadium legislation, 988 and local crisis response, and permanent supportive housing are among the issues they’ll be tackling, according to DC Councilmember Christina Henderson. [City Cast DC 🎧]

Old Town Alexandria Expands Pedestrian Zone

Alexandria is permanently closing off another block of King Street to cars, after a year-long trial. The move will expand the existing pedestrian-only zone by the waterfront effective immediately. [WTOP]

PG Data Center Stopped For Now

Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy paused development on a massive data center at the old Landover Mall after a petition to block it got more than 20,000 signatures. Opponents worry about noise pollution and other environmental impacts of the center. [NBC4]
