🚆 DC Streetcar to shut down
October 10, 2025 · 💌 Kaela
Good morning! Arlington Restaurant Week starts Monday and it’s time to get your resys 😋 There are over 80 participating spots and deals tend to be better than D.C. restaurant week. Yunnan Noodles and Immigrant Food are a couple I’ll be hitting up.

What's CITY Talking About
DC Streetcar Will Shut Down
The long-cursed D.C. Streetcar on H Street NE will shut down in March due to budget cuts, more than a year earlier than planned. The route, from Union Station to RFK Stadium is supposed to be replaced by an electric bus service, but it's unclear when. [Washington Post 🔒]
Don’t Panic, The Wedding’s Back On
The D.C. Council passed an emergency LOVE Act that will allow marriages to continue during the government shutdown. Because D.C.’s court system is federally funded, it's been stripped down to essential services, which doesn’t include marriage licenses. [DC News Now]
Norton Campaign Short On Cash
Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton’s reelection campaign is almost broke as the battle for D.C.’s house seat heats up. Her campaign had $6,477 as of Sept. 30 but is $90,000 in debt to Norton, who personally lent the money. She faces Brooke Pinto and Robert White, both of whom have strong fundraising chops and even some national political connections. [NOTUS/City Cast DC 🎧]
Black Widow Spider Alert
Black Widow spiders were found at Chantilly’s Westfield High School. Apparently, the venomous spiders are pretty common in Virginia and like to come into homes over winter. Very spooky. [NoVa Magazine]
