4,200 feds face layoffs amid shutdown
October 14, 2025 · 💌 Kaela
Hey DC! The Motel 6 near Union Market is getting a new life as a design pop-up after 27 DMV interior designers and artists transformed the rooms into their own showcases. It’s open to the public until Oct 19. Plus, there’s a cash bar on site 😉
☝️ Also! Heads up that due to the government shutdown, all the Smithsonian museums, including the Zoo, are now closed. Time for weekend plans 2.0.
