DC Outmaneuvers Congress, Spends Blocked Funds
D.C. officials may have solved that billion-dollar budget problem created by Congress. Good News for Landlords, Bad News for Some Renters
The D.C. Council this week voted to exempt most two-to-four unit rental properties from the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act, in the process reducing tenant rights when those buildings are sold. Supporters say it helps small landlords, while critics argue the decision lacked proper public input. The legislation is pending the mayor’s approval. [Washington Post 🔐]
