National Guard To Remain Until 2026
The National Guard has been ordered to stay in D.C. at least through February. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth reportedly extended the order which was supposed to lapse in November. The deployment is costing roughly $1 million a day. [CNN]
Residents Say Federal Law Enforcement Harming DC
D.C. residents asked city leaders to end local police’s cooperation with federal agencies during a public hearing on Wednesday. Concerns about the collaboration peaked after a federal agent shot at a D.C. driver — and potentially covered it up. [DC News Now/City Cast DC 🎧]
The Nats Have a Hot New Manager
The Washington Nationals are finalizing a deal to hire 33-year-old Blake Butera as manager. He will be the youngest manager in MLB in over 50 years. He was previously a minor league manager at the Tampa Bay Rays organization. [MLB]
