D.C. Council is cracking down on the city’s exploding rat problem. Last week they introduced new legislation — the RAT Act — to streamline the city’s response and hold property managers accountable for infestations. [WUSA9]

Members of the National Symphony Orchestra are worried that adding Trump’s name to the building has damaged their reputation and finances. They added that they are “disgusted and terrified” by the recent move. [Notus]

Parents Oppose Wootton School Closure
An education board meeting on the closure of Wootton High School got heated last week. Parents opposed the proposal of closing the school and sending students to the future Crown High School instead. One parent said they could close the school “over my dead body.” [WTOP]
Space Shuttle Remains In VA, For Now
The plan to move the space shuttle "Discovery" from Northern Virginia to Texas has hit pause. The transfer, laid out in Trump’s "Big Beautiful Bill," was supposed to happen this August, but the new NASA Chief says the shuttle is actually Smithsonian property and could cost over $120 million to transport.
